With globalization and the increased volume of international tarde, the legal framework for international transactions has assumed growing importance.
To avoid disagreements and to ensure the use of uniform rules for international transactions, those key conventions and sets of private rules have been developed to aid practitioners navigate their way through complicated legal requirements of trade transactions.  Treaties and International Documents used in International Trade Law responds to the need for a complete reference source of key trade texts for practitioners and scholars.

Treaties is divided into two parts:

1.  Texts Dealing with International Contracts

  • Conventions and texts related to the unification of law
    (i.e., CISG Vienna Convention 1980);
  • Conventions related to conflicts of law;
    (i.e. The Hague Convention on the Law Applicable to Agency, etc.):
  • Private norms (i.e., ICC's Incoterms 2000, ICC's UCP 500)

2. Texts Dealing with International Disputes

  • Arbitration conventions and model laws such as the UNCITRAL Model
    Law on International Commercial Concilliation;
  • Arbitration Rules, such as the ICC Rules on Arbitration.
This new second edition of Treaties and International Documents used in International Trade Law also includes an Introduction to each of the texts and,
where applicable, the most recent list of country ratifications.
